Game of Thrones is undoubtedly one of the best shows in the world currently. It is hard for someone to start watching Game of Thrones and stop in the middle of a season as each and everything in this series is so well crafted that you instantly fall in love with it. This show has everything that we expect in a TV show. From action to comedy, drama to romance, love to betrayal, it’s got something for every class of audience. The best part of GoT is the way the writers have shaped up the characters and the way the actors portray their role irrespective of its importance makes it nothing less than a must watch series. Today we are going to discuss about some of the best character transformations through out the series from season 1 to 6. If you have not been watching Game of Thrones or if you are just beginning to watch, SPOILER ALERT!!

P.S: We have not included Daenerys Targaryen and Arya Stark in this list because there was no change in their base character, only their power and importance.

Theon Greyjoy

Theon was one of the closest friends of the Starks and also highly trusted by Robb Stark until he turned his back on him and betrayed the Starks. Being one of the strongest reasons for the “Red Wedding”, Theon was a brave and proud fella until he was captured by Roose Bolton’s bastard son got-507-sansa-theon-1-shitsgold-tumblrRamsay Snow who was later named Ramsay Bolton. Ramsay kills everything inside him literally, his courage, confidence, proudness and also cuts off his manhood to completely kill him from inside and makes him his slave. Kudos to Alfie Allen who plays the role of Theon Greyjoy. Ramsay’s cruelty was reflected by the excellent acting of Theon a.k.a Reek. Through season 4 and 5 he moulds the character of Reek, a perfect slave who will do anything his master, even watch Ramsay rape Sansa just because Ramsay ordered him to do so. But now, things are slowly turning back to normal for him as he is becoming what he was 5 years back, thanks to his sister Yaara Greyjoy.

Sansa Stark

sansa-stark-collageSansa Stark, being the eldest daughter of the honorable Eddard ‘Ned’ Stark and one of the most iconic characters of Game of Thrones, Sansa has turned from a soft, cute and flimsy little girl to a bad ass hot chick who watched her husband getting eaten by his own hounds. This is like a massive tsansagifransformation. Not long ago Sansa was tormented by Joffrey Baratheon (or a Lannister) everyday and was made to look at her fathers head on a spike by Joffrey. But her miserable life got even more worse when she was married to Tyrion, but at least he respected her feelings. But the real culprit was Peter Baylish who kind of rescued her from the Lannisters and delivered her to the Boltons for his own selfish goals. But she somehow managed to reunite with her brother at Castle Black and was brave enough to bring the Knights of the Vale to the battle field at the right moment and she also got the pleasure of killing Ramsay. What a comeback!!

Sandor Clegane

Sandor Clegane a.k.a The Hound was a loyal servant to the throne, or should we say “A Dog” to the throne and did all the dirty works ordered by anyone who was in command until he realized that he cannot be any one’s dog anymore and left the Blackwater bay. Be it during his days at Westeros, as sangifone of the most feared man, to a man who saved Arya Stark by taking her as a hostage , then protecting her from the men who tried to attack her after the Red Wedding incident, we started to see the softer side of a dark man. Followed by the incidents at Vale, his nasty encounter with Brienne of Tarth  and resulting in him being let to rot to death by Arya Stark to death, we all felt sorry for him and also a bit upset with Arya. But alas, to everyone’s expectation, he comes back to life, assisting septon Ray , as a calm man. His gory nature was stirred up again after the villagers were slaughtered and then he began the journey to hunt down the men responsible for it. He meets his old friend , Ser Beric and sets off with them to the North. Well, Sandor was back with a bang!

Roose Bolton

roose-boltonRoose Bolton – the Lord of the Dreadfort and head of House Bolton, was indeed a character who took an unexpected turn. Fighting alongside Robb Stark during the War of the Five Kings and had been a trustable roosegifcompanion to the Starks. He took a drastic turn by making an alliance with the Lannisters and Freys – resulting in the perfectly orchestrated “Red Wedding”, killing Robb and Catelyn ultimately giving  us a major heart attack. Later, he becomes the Warden of the North. The next set of events such as Ramsay’s wedding with Sansa , naming Ramsay as a Bolton,  having his own son with Walda did nothing but established him as the third most hated person in the show ( next to Jofrey and Ramsay ). He met his ultimate fate when he was stabbed by his own bastard son Ramsay. what u sow is what u reap.

Jaime Lannister

jaimeThe King Slayer a.k.a Ser Jaime Lannister, son of Tywin Lannister was probably one of the most hated character by all in the starting but turned out to be one of the most lovable characters later in the series. “The things he does for love” will always be a worthy mention. Pushing Bran out of the window showed the heights of his villainism, but he also went of killing Arryn , but things took a we-found-out-he-both-sexing-up-his-sister-horrible-enough-kill-childdifferent turn when he met Brienne of Tarth and he was a completely
changed man when he lost his one hand
and also became a man of his word which made him assign Brienne to find and take care of the Stark girls. Things like this made us change our sentiments towards Jaime and ultimately when he confessed why he murdered the mad king to Brienne, he was established as a good soul. But he became a hero and won millions of hearts when he helped his brother Tyion escape. Long live Jaime Lannister!!!
